Mindful Parenting workshop is designed to introduce parents to the practices of Mindfulness as applied to parenting. These practices allow parents to bring a level of conscious awareness into their interactions with their children.
You will discover how mindfulness can help you navigate the ups and downs of parenting by learning to be fully present with your children in both shared moments of joy as well as when your buttons have been pushed to the limit. Mindfulness teaches awareness and regulation of automatic reactions and behaviors. It supports the development of compassion for self and others. Parents can use mindfulness when facing common challenges such as responding to toddler tantrums, helping children cope with school, peers and siblings or communicating with teenagers. By practicing Mindfulness it will help you transform your relationship with your children from one of stress, control, manipulation and conflict to one of ease, understanding, connection, love and respect.
Come explore Parenting with Mindfulness in this 1.5 hour workshop.
No experience necessary. Appropriate for beginners and those with Mindfulness experience.
Mindful Parenting Workshop is taught by Brooke Campanelli, a Mindfulness facilitator for both kids and adults. She currently teaches Mindfulness in an Afterschool program in Culver City Unified School District and teaches Mindful Parenting skills to adults. Brooke is a mother to an 8yr old boy and discovered that thru Mindfulness practices her relationship with her son became more peaceful and joyful. Her home became more calm, life became fuller, more present and joyful. Brooke is passionate about sharing this practice with other parents to reduce suffering in their own lives. Her personal Mindfulness practice and study spans almost 10 years. She is trained in the Mindful Schools Curriculum and her in-person studies at Insight LA, the Mindful Awareness Research Clinic at UCLA, Judith Harrington, and George Mumford have provided her the foundations of her practice while inspiring teachers such as Tara Brach and Thich Nhat Hanh provide continued inspiration for her teachings.
