Transformation: An Anti-Bias Training for White Folks

November 10th | Saturday 12:00 - 4:00 pm
$65 per person

A day of learning, growing, and transformation.  We will be looking deeply at the ways in which established bias around race has created blind spots in the way we perceive and engage in our world. We will approach this work from a place of compassion and understanding, using meditation, inquiry, education, restorative circles and community as we explore together our shared responsibility.

In this workshop, we will cover:

    •    Education and context with regards to interpersonal and institutionalized racism
    •    The understanding of the mind and how it works with bias beliefs
    •    Expanded awareness of our own bias thinking
    •    Practices that address this thinking to dismantle and transform beliefs that have been taught and given to us for generations
    •    A way to listen and share honestly, in order to heal and transform

Facilitated by Raja Michelle

The intention of it being a closed group for white folks is to have a safe place to be honest in the name of understanding without fear and or damage to another person.

Raja is the founder of The Tree South LA , a non-profit organization that offers yoga, meditation, education, training, and workshops to the South LA community. She has lived and worked within communities of color and has learned a profound amount about her own internalized racism and continues to be humbled by the journey of transformation. She is a certified yoga and mindfulness instructor and has facilitated restorative justice circles, healing workshops, and leadership training.
